The Shelbyville High School boys basketball program held its 2024 Summer Youth Camp last week with multiple sessions for incoming grades 1-8.
A total of 63 junior Golden Bears basketball players at various skill levels honed their skills under the direction of head coach John Hartnett’s coaching staff and players.
“This is always a very enjoyable time every summer,” said Hartnett. “The players worked hard and had fun. It is satisfying to watch our young players develop and gain an appreciation for the game.
“The camp also provides our high school players an opportunity to instruct and learn vital leadership skills.”
Players participated in a variety of drills that emphasized fundamentals and team concepts during the three-day camp. There also were scrimmages and individual competitions.
All campers received a 2024 Golden Bears Camp T-shirt.
The Shelbyville boys program will hold additional Tuesday clinics at the high school for incoming grades 2-6 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on the following dates: June 18, June 25, July 9, July 16 and July 23.
There is no fee for the clinics.
