Hannah Baker scored a pair of goals, including the game winner inside the final three minutes to lead Shelbyville to a 4-3 win Thursday over Franklin.
Baker scored the Golden Bears’ first goal then broke the 3-all tie late in the contest.
Hali Chaney and Ava VanWye scored game-tying goals in the second half to set up Baker’s final goal.
Shelbyville evened its record at 1-1. Franklin dropped to 1-1-1.

Shelbyville 206, Whiteland 227
At Blue Bear Golf Course in Shelbyville, Emmie Higgins shot a career best 44 and earned her fourth-straight medalist honor while leading the Golden Bears to a second straight win.
Also playing for Shelbyville were Kylie Stader (52), Riley Everette (53) and Maddy Jones (career best 57).
Triton Central 222, Eastern Hancock 236, Southwestern 242
At Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh, Kennedy Hall earned the medalist honor while leading the Tigers past the Spartans and Royals.
Hall’s 47 topped the Tigers’ scorecard. Also playing for TC were Lindsay Huxford (49), Hanna Fink (62) and Peyton Fillippinie (64).
Aurora Belton shot 51 to lead Southwestern. Sydney Griffin (56), Taryn Hoeing (65) and Emma Chandler (70) completed the Spartans’ scorecard.
Aubrey Whittington led Eastern Hancock with a 51.
Boys soccer
Southwestern 10, Anderson Prep 1
At Southwestern, Jace Patteron scored four goals and had two assists to help the Spartans improve to 2-0 this season.
Also scoring for Southwestern were Rafael Trawka (2), Ethan Sipes (2), Brayden Elliott and Josh Karr. Sipes and Trawka each had two assists.
Michael Clements had four saves in goal.
Girls soccer
Covenant Christian 2, Triton Central 1
At Covenant Christian, Ariel Walker scored the Tigers’ only goal off an assist from Ava Bedwell.
Triton Central dropped to 1-2 while the Warriors moved to 2-0.
Boys tennis
Waldron 5, Edinburgh 0
At Edinburgh, the visiting Mohawks (3-0) lost just four games total while sweeping the Lancers.
At No. 2 singles, Lucas Shaw earned career win No. 50 with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Matthew Burton.
Matthew Thomas and Lincoln Fischer netted a 6-1, 6-2 win over Jayson Music and Brinnyn Moss at No. 2 doubles.
Triton Central 4, Heritage Christian 1
Triton Central improved to 3-0 this season with a pair of doubles wins and strong performances at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
Tucker Hutchinson and Janssen Capps secured the singles wins and the doubles pairings of Max Crouse and Connor Evans (No. 1 doubles) and Brayden Hoover and Caleb McGuire (No. 2 doubles) helped push the Tigers’ record to 3-0.
Volleyball
Waldron def. Milan, 25-23, 14-25, 25-14, 25-22
At Waldron, Lilli Lozier finished with eight kills, 16 digs and two service aces to lead the Mohawks to their first victory of the season.
Jackie Corlett had seven kills and Emerson Lindsey contributed six kills, 22 digs and three aces. Setter Lauren Strehke notched 18 assists.
Greensburg def. Triton Central, 25-15, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20
At Greensburg, Averi Helms and Leah West each had 11 kills to lead the Pirates past the Tigers.
Mya Comer directed the offense with 36 assists and she also finished with 15 digs to push Greensburg’s record to 2-1.
Lucy May led Triton Central (2-1) with 15 kills. Gwyn Williams finished with 12 kills and 23 digs.
McKenzie Jett had a match-high 35 digs.
Hagerstown def. Morristown, 24-26, 25-20, 25-22, 25-15
At Morristown, the host Yellow Jackets (2-3) won the opening set but could not deny the Tigers (2-0) the road win.
Avery Everhart had a team-high 10 kills for Morristown. Kindall Dorsey finished with 17 digs and three aces. Zoey Coons had 15 digs.
Raleigh Doerstler led Hagerstown with 21 kills and five aces.
Columbus North def. Shelbyville, 25-8, 25-8, 25-19
At Columbus North, Sydney Haehl had two kills and 10 digs while Alivia Lee collected two kills and two aces.
Shelbyville fell to 0-3 this season.
