Colin Kieninger scored 10 of his game-high 19 points in the opening quarter Saturday to lead Morristown to a 49-44 win over Eminence.
The host Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 17-10 lead and never trailed at each quarter break.
Owen Rinzel finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kellen Crim added nine points, five rebounds, four assists and seven steals to even Morristown’s record at 1-1 this season.
Nathan Bridges topped the Eels (0-2) with 14 points. Luke Finney finished with 11 and Johnathan Myers had 10.
Morristown travels Tuesday to Oldenburg Academy (0-1).

Tri 60, Southwestern 45
At Southwestern, five different Titans scored in the opening quarter which put the Spartans in chase mode the rest of the contest in a battle between new sectional opponents.
Gracen Huffman led Tri (2-0) with 13 points. Cooper Engle and Bryant Cornelius each had 11 points and Bryan Kinder and Eli Murphy added eight points apiece in the victory.
Ben Kahler scored nine of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter but no other Spartan reached double digits.
Avery Dennison finished with nine points and Jace Patterson had eight points.
Tri won the junior varsity game, 48-32. James Oliver led Southwestern with 11 points.
Southwestern hosts Triton Central (1-1) Saturday.
Knightstown 57, Waldron 52
At Knightstown, Waldron overcame a slow start to take a 41-38 lead after three quarters but could not hold on for a season-opening win.
Brantt Ellis hit five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 29 points to lead the host Panthers (1-1).
Lucas Shaw scored 16 of his team-high 18 points for Waldron in the second half. The senior also had seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Freshman Eli Stewart scored 14 points, collected three rebounds and had two assists in his Mohawks debut.
Waldron hosts Triton Central (1-1) Thursday.
Girls basketball
Trinity Lutheran 86, Southwestern 14
At Trinity Lutheran, the host Cougars scored 55 first-half points to run away from the Spartans.
Marley Warren had 12 first-quarter points and made a trio of 3-pointers in the third quarter to finish with a game-high 25 points.
Madison Keith (15 points) and Zoey Dulaney (13) also scored in double digits.
Four different Spartans scored in the loss led by Tanna Tatlock’s six points.
Southwestern (2-5) is at Hauser (3-3) Tuesday.
