Nevaeh Cox and Emma Nelson combined for 31 points Thursday to lead Morristown to its first win of the season.
Cox connected on 7-of-12 field-goal attempts to score a team-high 17 points in a 51-47 win at South Decatur (1-1, 1-1 Mid-Hoosier Conference). The senior also had five rebounds and one steal.
Nelson, a Marian University Ancilla recruit, made four 3-pointers on the way to a 14-point performance. The senior also grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists and had one steal.
Olivia Rude nearly put together a triple-double, scoring seven points while collecting 11 rebounds and 10 steals.
Morristown improved to 1-2 this season. The Yellow Jackets are at Shelbyville (1-0) Saturday for a noon varsity-only contest.

At South Ripley, visiting Waldron trailed by six points at halftime but saw the Raiders extend the lead to 12 after three quarters and score 24 points over the final eight minutes to secure the win.
Claire Samples scored a game-high 20 points to lead South Ripley (2-1).
Kiley Best was the only Mohawk to score in double digits with 11 points. Emerson Lindsey followed with nine points. Alivia Fischer and Kacey Barker each had five points.
The Mohawks (0-3) play their third game this week and fourth in seven days tonight at home against Southwestern (1-1). The varsity-only game will tip off at 6 p.m.
