
Waldron produced double-digit point totals in all four quarters Friday to secure a Mid-Hoosier Conference victory over South Decatur.
In addition, the Mohawks’ defense limited the Cougars to single-digit scoring totals in three of the four quarters.
Eli Stewart sank a pair of three-pointers in the opening quarter as Waldron (11-9, 3-3 MHC) built a 10-2 lead.
That advantage grew to 22-9 at halftime before Lucas Shaw scored nine of his game-high 21 points in the third quarter to keep the lead in double digits.
Drake Skaggs scored five of his team-high 13 points in the fourth but South Decatur (5-13, 0-5 MHC) could not get a comeback started.
Stewart finished with 10 points and Parker Douglas added seven for Waldron.
The Mohawks travel Friday to Liberty Christian (12-8).

At Triton Central, Marshawnn Henderson scored nine of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to move the Raiders one step closer to capturing the Indiana Crossroads Conference championship.
Devin Bolden had six points in the final quarter as well to improve Ritter to 14-5 (5-0 ICC).
Three Tigers scored in double figures – Silas Blair (14), Cael Butler (13) and Eli Sego (12).
Triton Central dropped to 11-8 overall and 2-2 against ICC foes.
The Tigers host Monrovia (6-12, 0-3 ICC) Tuesday in Fairland.

Shelbyville junior Riley Everette could not match her sectional runner-up time in the 100-yard butterfly Friday in the preliminary races at the Indiana University Natatorium.
Everette, making her first state finals appearance, was seeded 23rd (57.01 seconds) entering five preliminary heats. She needed a top 16 finish to return to today’s state championship and consolation races.
Everette finished eighth in her heat in 58.94 to close out her season with a 27th-place finish in the state championship meet.
To qualify for the state championship race, it took a time of 55.2 seconds. To finish in the top 16, it took 55.8.
Defending state champion Alexandra Shackell of Carmel produced the top time of 50.73.
