Brock Wischmeyer posted the best individual round of the Trinity Lutheran Invitational and led Shelbyville to the team victory.
The Golden Bears’ 353 bested Batesville by five strokes as well as nine other teams Saturday at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour.
Wischmeyer (photo, third from left) shot 78 to earn his first medalist honor of the season. He was the only golfer to shoot below 80 in the windy conditions.
Jake Garrison also had a top-10 individual finish with an 84.
Completing the Shelbyville scorecard were Logan Tobian (93), Logan Reinhart (98) and DaMiles McDuffey (110).

Baseball
Shelbyville 10, Franklin County 6
At Franklin County, Dalton Jones had two home runs as part of a four-hit game and drove in five runs to lead the Golden Bears to the win.
Jones, a junior, also earned the win after pitching two innings and striking out four to get the Golden Bears back to .500 at 7-7.
Luke Brinkman pitched four innings in relief before Luke Jackson and Gavin Reed combined to pitch an inning.
Grantland Fitzgerald had a double and a walk and drove in two runs.
Waldron 17, Southwestern 6
At Southwestern, Hunter Dodson gave up three hits and two walks while striking out eight to lead the Mohawks to a game-one win in the doubleheader.
Jared Brooks drove in four runs while J.D. Smith, Caiden Young, Jacob Bennett and Keith Settles each had two RBI.
Isaac Bunch took the loss for Southwestern. He had seven strikeouts and allowed eight hits in 4.2 innings of work. The junior also had two hits and drove in three runs.
Waldron 12, Southwestern 5
Freshman Keagan Schneider earned his first varsity win with a six-inning performance that limited the Spartans to just three runs. Corbin Yantiss pitched the final inning to close out the MHC sweep for the Mohawks (8-6, 2-4 MHC).
Smith drove in two runs and Jacob Bennett had two hits.
Bunch finished with three hits for Southwestern (1-9, 1-7 MHC). Ian Bunch had two hits and Kaden Barlow had two RBI.
Triton Central 13, Indy Genesis 3
At Triton Central, Eli Sego, Nick Riggins and Kellan Dishman each drove in three runs to get the Class 2A, No. 5 Tigers a win in game one of a doubleheader.
Blaine Raider earned the win for Triton Central.
Triton Central 12, Indy Genesis 7
In game two, Bryce Haney had two doubles and drove in four runs to lead the Tigers (14-1). Sego had three hits, scored three runs and had three RBI.
Parker Althoff had two hits, scored four runs and drove in two runs for Indy Genesis (6-5-1).
Brayden Hoover pitched four innings and allowed one hit to get the win.
Softball
Tri 14, Morristown 1
At Morristown, an eight-run third inning propelled the Titans to the victory. Lyla Williams had two doubles and drove in four runs to lead Tri (6-5).
Nevaeh Cox and Mykynzy Smith had Morristown’s only two hits in the loss. The Yellow Jackets dropped to 3-7.
Girls tennis
Greenwood 5, Triton Central 1
At Pendleton Heights, Olivia Williams produced Triton Central’s lone victory at No. 3 singles. She defeated Kate Boyce, 6-2, 6-3.
The Tigers were swept in straight sets in the other four matches.
Triton Central 5, Pendleton Heights 0
At Pendleton Heights, Ellie Gast needed a third set at No.1 singles to complete the sweep of the Arabians.
Gast bested Sarah Ghosh, 6-7 (8), 6-2, 10-6.
Anniston Evans and Williams secured singles victories.
At No. 1 doubles, Audrey Canter and Lauren Grant topped Addie Aldridge and Esper Fernandez, 6-3, 6-0.
Neve Kahler and Estelle Gearlds defeated Reegan Freeman and Maddie Dutton at No. 2 doubles, 6-0, 6-4.

Baseball
South Decatur 9, Waldron 5
At Waldron, the visiting Cougars scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to secure the MHC sweep of the Mohawks.
Drake Scaggs had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs for South Decatur (7-3, 4-0 MHC). J.P. Scudder earned the win with four scoreless innings of relief after the Mohawks scored five runs (just one earned) off starter Corey Nugent.
Jacob Bennett notched 11 strikeouts in six innings of work for Waldron. Hunter Dodson took the loss after allowing four runs (two earned) in the seventh.
Edinburgh 3, Morristown 2
At Edinburgh, the Lancers pushed a run across the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning to complete the MHC sweep.
Avynn Whitaker scattered three hits and two walks while striking out 14 for Edinburgh (8-5-1, 2-3 MHC). Austin Brockman had three hits including two doubles.
Softball
Waldron 16, South Decatur 6
At Waldron, the host Mohawks scored at least two runs in five of the six innings played to get the MHC sweep of the Cougars.
Alyssa Benson went the distance for Waldron (4-2, 2-2 MHC), allowing four hits and striking out nine. Destiny Hirschauer had two hits and drove in five runs. Sophie Hattabaugh had three RBI.
Edinburgh 12, Morristown 7
At Edinburgh, the Lancers used a 9-run second inning to take a second-straight win over the Yellow Jackets.
Eloise Cox and Kenna Streeval combined to limit Morristown to nine hits while striking out 11. Lillie Goff and Alix Streeval combined to drive in five runs for Edinburgh (2-9, 2-3 MHC).
Nevaeh Cox, Madi Espich and Kayla Bair each had two this for Morristown.
Girls tennis
Waldron 4, Triton Central 1
At Waldron, the Mohawks won both doubles matches in straight sets and added a pair of singles victories to defeat the Tigers.
At No. 1 doubles, Audrey Berauer and Riley Price defeated Triton Central’s Audrey Canter and Lauren Grant, 6-3, 6-3.
Kathryn Ross and Estelle Gearlds bested Neve Kahler and Estelle Gearlds at No. 2 doubles, 7-5, 6-1.
Waldron got singles victories from Emily Tyree and Riley Thurston.
At No. 1 singles, Triton Central’s Maryrose Felling topped Waldron’s Emerson Lindsey, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5).
Track and field
New Castle Invitational
Triton Central won both throwing events at the New Castle Invitational.
Willy Baugh won the shot put with a best throw of 48 feet, one inch. Baugh finished runner-up in the discus (122-10) behind teammate Ben Wilkins (132-8).
Also scoring top-four finishes were Zeke Robertson (fourth in 110 hurdles, 16.46; second in 300 hurdles, 41.66) and the 400 relay team (third in 45.64) and 1,600 relay team (third in 3:46.91).
In the girls meet, Triton Central’s Allie Griffith finished third in the 300 hurdles (54.29).
Triton Central finished runner-up in the 400 relay (54.56) and fourth in the 1,600 relay (4:49.81).
Park Tudor Invitational
Morristown’s Anna Osborne finished runner-up in the long jump (14-4).
Other Yellow Jackets that secured top-four finishes were Brooklyn Carlton (third in 300 hurdles, 52.53) and Kindall Dorsey (second in shot put, 26-1; third in discus, 87-10.5).
Hunter Biddle, Ryan Crisman and Levi Stoddard had Morristown’s best finishes in the boys event. Biddle finished seventh in the 400 (55.7). Crisman placed seventh in the 1,200 (3:57.94). Stoddard finished seventh in the high jump (5-0).
