Greencastle, North Putnam and South Putnam aim for Sectional 41 title

The McAnally Center will play host to Class 2A Sectional 41 and the action starts right away for Putnam County teams as both North Putnam and South Putnam will get going on the first night.

North Putnam (6-16) opens the tournament in the first game of the tournament against Parke Heritage (18-4) on Tuesday, March 4, at 6 p.m. The two teams did not play during the regular season. The winner will play Greencastle (16-6) on Friday, March 7, at 6 p.m. The Tiger Cubs defeated North Putnam, 58-39, and did not play Parke Heritage in the regular season.

The Eagles of South Putnam (6-14) will take on South Vermillion (11-10) immediately following the conclusion of game one Tuesday night (March 5), with tipoff slated for 7:30 p.m. This marks the first meeting between the two teams this season. The winner will advance to take on Southmont (15-6) in the second game of Friday's semi-final action. South Putnam lost 78-58 to Southmont on Feb. 18.

Cloverdale headed to White River Valley

As for the Clovers, who dropped down to Class A this season, their postseason opens Wednesday, March 5, at White River Valley in Sectional 61.

Cloverdale, who is coached by first year head coach Joey Hart, enters the final week of the regular season with a 9-14 record, and will take on North Central (Farmersburg) (7-13).

Cloverdale and North Central did not meet in the regular season, and the winner will take on the winner of Dugger Union (3-17) and White River Valley (9-12) in the second semi-final on March 7. The Clovers lost 66-50 to White River Valley in January and did not play Dugger Union.
