Shelby County’s five high school baseball programs learned Sunday night what their postseason sectional tournaments will look like with the release of the 57th Annual Baseball State Tournament pairings.

Sectional baseball games run from May 22-27. Sectional champions advance to one of eight regional sites to face as-yet-disclosed opponents.

 

 

Shelbyville

Barnett Field at Shelbyville High School is the host site for Class 4A, Sectional 14 and the Golden Bears will have no complaints about the draw.

In the quarterfinal round, Franklin (6-7) will open the sectional against 4A, No. 7 Columbus North (12-1). In the other quarterfinal round game, East Central (8-7) will take on Whiteland (9-5).

Shelbyville (7-7) and Columbus East (5-13) will meet in the second semifinal game at Barnett Field.

 

 

Triton Central

A pair of top-10 ranked teams compete in Class 2A, Sectional 42 at Park Tudor High School but cannot meet until the championship game.

In the opener, Class 2A, No. 7 Park Tudor (10-1) hosts Indianapolis Scecina (3-13) in the only quarterfinal game. The winner advances to face Heritage Christian (9-7).

Triton Central (14-1), ranked No. 5 in 2A, opens against Irvington Prep (8-3). The Tigers and Ravens are not scheduled to meet in the regular season.

 

 

Morristown

Five teams head to Morristown for Class A, Sectional 59.The host Yellow Jackets (4-9) open the tournament in the only quarterfinal contest against Indianapolis Lutheran (6-9). The winner advances to face Edinburgh (8-5-1) in the semifinal round.

The Saints and Morristown are not scheduled to meet in the regular season.

In the other semifinal game, Greenwood Christian (6-7) faces Indianapolis Metropolitan (0-1).

Waldron and Southwestern

The Mohawks and Spartans landed in opposite halves of the bracket at Class A, Sectional 60 at Jac-Cen-Del.

 

 

Southwestern (1-9) will face North Decatur (7-5) in a semifinal game while the other four teams battle through the quarterfinal round. The Spartans and Chargers are scheduled to meet on May 9 and May 10 for their Mid-Hoosier Conference series.

The sectional opens with South Decatur (7-3) taking on Oldenburg Academy (4-5).

 

 

Waldron (8-6) follows against Jac-Cen-Del (7-5). The Mohawks lost to Jac-Cen-Del, 13-3, on April 16.

The quarterfinal round winners meet in the first semifinal game.
