Lucas Shaw scored a team-high 22 points to lead Waldron to a 60-56 win Saturday afternoon over Tri.
Keith Settles followed with 12 points and four rebounds for the Mohawks (7-8), who have won three of their last four contests.
Max Jones had eight points, five rebounds and three assists.
Tri dropped to 11-5 with the loss.
Waldron hosts South Decatur (9-8) Friday.

Boys basketball
Alexandria 62, Morristown 44
At Alexandria, Kellen Crim and Mathew Carlton combined for 24 points but it was not enough to get the visiting Yellow Jackets past the Tigers (9-9).
Crim scored a team-high 13 points and had three rebounds, three assists and four steals in the loss. Carlton finished with 11 points and three rebounds.
Colin Kieninger had three points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Morristown (2-15) is at Southwestern (1-14) Thursday before hosting Eastern Hancock (8-8) Friday.
Gymnastics
Rushville Invitational
Shelbyville placed third and Morristown was fifth in the seven-team invitational hosted by Rushville.
Morristown sophomore Remi Spicklemire tied for second on the balance beam with a score of 8.25 and finished fifth in the vault (8.425) and on uneven bars (7.5). She also finished fifth in the all-around with a 31.45.
Southwestern’s Mikayla Claiborne placed third in the vault (8.475) and fourth on balance beam (8.075) to finish sixth in the all-around (30.9).
Shelbyville’s Lilli Conway placed seventh on the uneven bars (6.875) and eighth in vault (8.325).
