Shelbyville's Badgley, Waldron's Shaw named All-District by HBCA

Four Shelby County basketball players have been honored by the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association (HBCA).

Shelbyville senior Damon Badgley and Waldron senior Lucas Shaw are two of the 12 players representing District 3.

Badgley is averaging 9.4 points and shooting 40% from the three-point line for the 18-6 Golden Bears. 

Shaw leads the Mohawks (11-11) in scoring at 16.4 ppg. He also pulls down 5.5 rpg.

The other members of the 2025 HBCA Boys All-District 3 team are South Ripley’s Cole Henry and Blaine Ward, Batesville’s Cole Kaiser, Greensburg’s Jack McKinsey, Lawrenceburg’s Noah Knigga, Oldenburg Academy’s Henry Wanstrath, Southwestern’s Landon Kidwell, Franklin’s Kolt Nelson, and Indian Creek’s Adam Crouch and Landon Sichting.

HBCA Underclass All-District

The HBCA also released the Underclass All-District squads. Shelbyville juniors Caden Claxton and Mar Nicholson and Morristown sophomore Kellen Crim are part of the District 3 team.

Also representing District 3 are Batesville’s Trenton Luers, Columbus East’s Keaton Lawson and Carter Patterson, Columbus North’s Caleb Ferguson and Austin Perry, Hauser’s Stryker Gill and Gavin Keller, South Dearborn’s Scout Gray, and South Ripley’s Drew Volz.

The All-District teams are chosen by HBCA member coaches.
