Shelbyville junior Riley Everette played the final three holes Saturday at the Greensburg Sectional in 4-over par to post an 18-hole round of 99 and qualify for the Franklin Regional.
Everette shot 49 on the front nine at the Greensburg Country Club which included a birdie on the par-3 fifth hole. She finished the round with a 50 on the back nine to earn the final advancing spot out of the sectional.
The top three teams and the top three lowest-scoring individuals not on an advancing team qualified for the regional which will be Saturday at The Legends Golf Course in Franklin.
Batesville captured the sectional title with a score of 313. East Central (357) and Greensburg (399) also advanced out of the sectional.
Shelbyville finished fifth at 438, trailing Franklin County (406) in the team standings. Southwestern placed eighth.
East Central’s Rowan Pies carded a 1-under par score of 69 to win the sectional title.
Franklin County’s Annie Hoff (97) and Audrey Means (98) also advanced to the regional along with Everette.
Also competing for Shelbyville, Emmie Higgins and Maddy Jones each shot 112. Sophia Asher followed at 115 and Kylie Stader posted 120.
Aurora Belton led Southwestern at 104. Also closing out the season for the Spartans were Sydney Griffin (116), Taryn Hoeing (125), Emma Chandler (128) and Olivia Lahey (131).
