
Triton Central trailed at halftime of its final home game of the season but outscored Monrovia in the second half to secure a 39-34 victory in Fairland.
The Tigers (12-8, 3-2 Indiana Crossroads Conference) earned the win without leading scorer Eli Sego (17.2 ppg), who missed the game due to illness.
Max Crouse finished with a game-high 14 points. Silas Blair followed with 13 points and the duo combined to score 15 points in the second half to help Triton Central overcome a 19-15 halftime deficit.
Clay Tharp led Monrovia (6-14, 0-5 ICC) with 10 points. Hayden McCloud and Hudson McCloud each scored nine.
Triton Central’s final two games of the regular season are Friday at Beech Grove (7-13, 4-2 ICC) and Feb. 28 at Speedway (2-17, 2-3 ICC).
The IHSAA State Pairings Show will air Sunday at 6 p.m. and inform teams around the state how the sectional tournaments will look.
Triton Central is in Class 2A, Sectionals 43 hosted by Christel House. The 7-team field also includes Eastern Hancock (12-7), Indianapolis Scecina (6-14), Heritage Christian (7-12), KIPP Indy Legacy (13-7), Irvington Prep (8-16) and Christel House (13-8).
The Tigers are 1-3 against potential sectional opponents this season.
