Waldron High School 8-man football is the lone unbeaten team left and has qualified for the 4-team postseason tournament.
The Mohawks, now 6-0 after accepting a forfeit last Saturday from Indiana Deaf, host Rock Creek Academy (3-2) at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Waldron will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month with a “Pink Out” theme.
There will be three football games Saturday at Waldron beginning with a kindergarten through second grade game between Waldron and Knightstown at 2 p.m.
At 4 p.m., seventh and eighth graders from Rock Creek Academy will take the field against Waldron.
Up to 30 vendors are expected to be at this day-long event at Waldron High School. Carnival games will run from noon to 6 p.m.
Various food options also will be available to purchase.
A silent auction will continue through halftime of the high school game.
T-shirts have been pre-sold with all the proceeds going to the Cancer Association of Shelby County.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top four teams will meet in semifinal games on Oct. 19. Rock Creek is currently third in the standings behind the Tri-State Crusaders (4-2), but ahead of Dugger Union (2-3), Traders Point Christian Academy (2-3) and Indiana Deaf (0-6).
The Mohawks are in a good position to host a semifinal game.
The 8-man championship game is scheduled for Oct. 26.
