Waldron 8-man football improves to 3-0

Waldron 8-man football prevailed Saturday in a defensive battle with Dugger Union, 14-6.

The Mohawks racked up just 91 yards rushing but reached the end zone twice to stay unbeaten at 3-0.

Hunter Dodson finished with 46 yards rushing on 12 carries and scored the game-winning touchdown with 50 seconds left.

Troy Atwood scored the other Waldron touchdown. Atwood led the Waldron defense with 9.5 tackles.

Hunter Dodson had 8.5 tackles and Walker Dodson finished with seven tackles.

The Waldron defense accounted for two interceptions, three quarterback sacks and two force fumbles in the win.

Waldron will put its unbeaten streak on the line Friday in Whitestown, Indiana, against Traders Point Christian Academy. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
