Waldron High School 8-man football improved to 5-0 this season with a dominating performance Saturday against visiting Traders Point Christian Academy, 40-6.
The game ended after three quarters when a Traders Point player suffered a head injury. The player is reportedly doing well, according to Waldron coach Corey Barton.
Walker Dodson ran the ball seven times for 66 yards and two touchdowns. He also completed two passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Hunter Dodson completed three passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 75-yard kick return for a touchdown.
Troy Atwood had three catches for 165 yards and three touchdowns. He also led Waldron’s defensive effort with 5.5 tackles and a forced fumble.
Hunter Dodson and Tad Crosby each had 4.5 tackles. Dodson finished with three quarterback sacks. Crosby had an interception.
The Mohawks have two regular-season games left on the schedule. They play at Indiana Deaf Saturday at 7 p.m.
Rock Creek Academy visits Waldron on Oct. 5 for a 6:30 p.m. game. The theme for the finale is “Pink Out.”
Four teams will qualify for the semifinal round of the playoffs on Oct. 19. The 8-man football championship game is Oct. 26.
